Sax and violence

The day of the bed

Hungover and tired. Stables was grand yesterday but today is the day of the bed.

Watching Angel, season 5. Won't do much more.

The shape of things to come?

Tonight is a night of welcomes. The event of the night is the welcome party for all new international students at Stables, the bar at the university.

On the picture you can see a glass of Laphroaig, a cranberry vodka and a cup of coffee. I wonder how this will end.

St Patrick's day in Dublin

Between the 15th and the 19th of March this year I will be in Dublin to celebrate St Patrick’s day with my friends.

I have now booked the rooms for us. It was really hard finding a hostel or hotel that was not fully booked during the Irish holiday. For the same reason as I have, a lot of people are coming to Dublin on St Patrick’s day.

I think the drinking is going to be grand!

Will I meet you there?

Can't wait to watch this

Review of The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo

The American version of the Girl With the Dragon Tattoo wasn't bad, it just lacked the finer qualities that made the Swedish version so good.

Noomi Rapace managed to make Lisbeth Salander feel like a real person with Asbergers and problems, a strong individual unable to sustain regular relationships with people.

Roony Mara does not. To me it felt like she was a too perfect character, like she was almost normal, although with a photographic memory, a punk wardrobe and an urge to hack computers. Mara’s version of Salander is a young woman who cannot function without Michael Blomkvist, she needs him to be able to find the bad guys and punish them.

That need takes away some of the feminist message that Steig Larsson’s books had.

The American version also failed to bring some of the charisma that the Swedish version had, the underlining humour that made the relationship between Blomkvist and Salander so enjoyable to watch, the small things that showed the audience exactly how different the two persons are.

Despite this the film was watchable and on occasion enjoyable. The soundtrack by Trent Reznor was as excepted awesome. I had some fun recognising places and brands.

But if you haven’t already seen any filmed version of the book yet I urge you to watch the Swedish one, because it is better.

Tonight I am going to watch a dragon

Fuck this shit. I am bored!

Since I am getting cash tomorrow I am going to celebrate by watching The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo tonight.

Trent Reznor did the original. Cash did the song his own. It is awsome in both versions. Check it out.Which one do you like the most?

Fucking awsome fish soup

I made a freaking awesome fish soup today and I thought I would give you the recipe so that you to may indulge in culinary experiences.

I won’t go with the orthodox measurement because it is more about the feeling anyway. (That’s what she said)

Chop up a red onion, some garlic and like a knuckle of green chilli. Melt some butter and put the previously mentioned ingredients in the pot.

Fry it.

Cut up a handful of potatoes, a carrot, half a red pepper and a carrot sized fresh broccoli.

Put it in the pot.

Fry with basil and oregano.

Ad water and let cook for about 10 minutes.

When you feel like it ad two alcoholic (full) glasses of white wine and a cube of vegetable bullion.

Let it cook for 5 minutes.

Ad a handful of salmon, tuna and scampi.

If you want you can ad a little seaweed at the same time.

Cook until the seafood is done. (A hint: it stops looking raw and gets a little harder)

Serve with a click of crème fraiche and some rocket and baby spinach as garnish.

Eat.
